A message from our head teacher
Headteacher Gill Fotheringham shares a few words of welcome to Sutherland House School Braithwell.
Our vision and values underpin all that we do to ensure we provide a high-quality individualised and person-centred experience for all of our pupils.
Here at Sutherland House School Braithwell, we pride ourselves on delivering a broad, balanced and aspirational holistic curriculum which is tailored to meet our pupils’ individual needs.
All our children and young people are autistic. We are committed to providing them with a nurturing and engaging learning environment, which will ultimately enable them to feel safe and happy, so we can support them to reach their potential.
We value everyone who has an input into the lives of our pupils and you, as parents/carers, are paramount to ensure that we can work together to achieve the best outcomes for them.
SHS Braithwell is run by an experienced team of education professionals, all of whom have an extensive background supporting young people with additional educational needs.
Positive Behaviour Support is integral to every part of school life and is tailored individually to the diverse needs of each pupil.
Our holistic approach provides a combination of academic, therapeutic and enrichment opportunities which all come together in preparing our young people for adulthood and their next steps in life.
Once we are open, you are more than welcome to book a visit and see for yourselves how we value and care for our pupils. Appointments and further information can be discussed with our friendly administration team, who you can contact on braithwelladmin@aem.org.uk.
