About our school

Autism East Midlands is opening a new independent school within the village of Braithwell, Doncaster.

We're an independent special school for autistic students aged between 3 and 19 years, situated within commutable distance of Doncaster, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Rotherham and Sheffield.

Autism East Midlands has provided specialist education for autistic children and young people since 1968 and the first Sutherland House School was established in 1970.

With such a rich history of providing specialist support and education to autistic students, we're delighted to bring our second school to Doncaster within the village of Braithwell.

When will the school open?

We're continuing to get the school ready, and so are unable to share a specific date. When we do have a date, we will publish here and on our social media.

We are aiming to open at Easter 2025.

All appropriate vacancies will be advertised on the Autism East Midlands website nearer the time, so do keep an eye out!
